Mid-week glider competitions

The mid-week glider competitions were great fun this year. The very competitive flying was interspersed with plentiful banter. Several novices took part and got some fair results.

Here are a few photos from 23rd July 2026.

There was a great turnout for this mid-week glider competition.

Some flyers chose to launch immediately, giving maximum time in case a relaunch was needed.

Others waited and watched for signs of lift.

Experience showed in the landings – the bonus is important when flyers are evenly matched.

Another nice approach – I think by Paul Shrubb.

Colin Lucas used every trick to hit the spot!
