Ashurst Sunday glider competitions – RES – max 2m rubber, elevator and spoilers only
With the remaining competitions cancelled due to poor weather, I can say congratulations to Clive Upperton on winning the RES contest at Ashurst. Tom Gaskin was a close second with Robin just 7 points behind him! Thank you to the organisers and all who took part in a very successful and enjoyable series.
Ashurst Sunday glider competitions – eCaprice
With the remaining competitions cancelled due to poor weather, I can say congratulations to Robin Strange and Clive Upperton, joint winners of the eCaprice contest at Ashurst. Tom Gaskin was third. Thank you to the organisers and all who took part in a very successful and enjoyable series. The Keil Kraft Caprice is a classic 51-inch wingspan free-flight towline glider designed originally by Neville Willis in 1959. They are great fun to fly in light or zero wind conditions, so gave some close and competitive flying.
Mid-week glider competition – under 2.5m
Congratulations to Clive Upperton on winning the Mid-week glider competition. John Ivory was close behind in second place, Colin Lucas in third. Thank you to the organisers and all who took part in a very successful and enjoyable series.
Mid-week glider competition – Innovation
This is a new one-design class for the Gruner Innovation 1.245m span electrically launched glider. Congratulations to Colin Lucas who held onto the lead by a good margin.
