Ashurst Sunday glider competitions – RES – max 2m rubber, elevator and spoilers only
Sunday 16th August brought perfect conditions for lightweight thermal soarers. Winds were light and there were plenty of thermals to make the contest interesting. There was also plenty of sink, so tactics played an important part. It proved possible to land and relaunch and win a slot.
Ashurst Sunday glider competitions – eCaprice
The conditions were also perfect for the vintage electric-converted Keil Kraft Caprice gliders. The Keil Kraft Caprice is a classic 51-inch wingspan free-flight towline glider designed originally by Neville Willis in 1959. They are great fun to fly in light or zero wind conditions, so today gave some close and competitive flying.
Mid-week glider competition – under 2.5m
Round 10 took place in breezy conditions. The top placed contestants continued to get closer as the series draws to an end.
Mid-week glider competition – Innovation
This is a new one-design class for the Gruner Innovation 1.245m span electrically launched glider. Robin is closing the gap, but Colin Lucas continues to hold a good lead.
