Beautiful autumn day at Coombes
31st October 2026.
With most of the population of Sussex seemingly rushing around buying Halloween pumpkins and treats, a beautiful autumn day brought an increasing crowd of flyers to Coombes.
The weather was excellent. The wind was not from the prevailing direction but was mostly easterly, allowing the cars to park conveniently by the mower box.
Paul Shrubb took some excellent photos, apologies if your plane was missed!
David King is enjoying low-cost flying with an AcroWot modified Tucano style by the previous owner and bought at auction for £20.

Grahame Pearson flew his Flair Puppeteer, OS48 4-stroke.

Les Crane flew his repaired Chipmunk with great concentration.

Care was needed landing down the slope.

Rob Walker flew his Flightline Spitfire, 1600mm version.
